Cover of 1966 Velvet Underground song written by Lou Reed. Recorded at Gilroy Ca Ukulele Jam Zoom session. I used Al Wood’s chart. This is a stretch song that includes finger picking leading into chords. Singing starts while still on the finger picking. Also some plucking of the top 2 strings. I got the finger picking better at the 2nd part. Played at 100 BPM, the original is 110 BPM. I’ll return to this song at an open mic when up to speed. I played it again at the Ukulele Rebellion Zoom session in the evening, following a Disney song cover. I remarked that VU is about as far from Disney as one can get. After 2 consecutive lullabies, it’s time for something rough and tumble. As a sign of the times, I’ll dip into the Billy Bragg songbook and turn the world upside down. Stay tuned!
