Hold On
This Tom Waits song was suggested by an acquaintance. I found the phrasing challenging, especially the last lines of the verses. I did not get it quite correct at Gilroy. At Ukulele Rebellion later that evening nailed it. I ran out of time to chart the song, so I simplified the ending repetitions.

Gilroy
“Home” was the jam’s theme with a John Denver emphasis. “Hold On” contrarily is about leaving home. Curt led “Bring It On Home To Me.” And Woody Guthrie’s “I Ain’t Got No Home.” Florence led “Homeward Bound.” Linda led “Home” by Greg Holden & Drew Pearson (a name shared by a football player and a 20th century syndicated columnist) and “Home Grown Tomatoes.”. Rudy led “House of Rising Sun,” the Animals arrangement, as well as “A Word of Our Own.” Karen led “Gentle on My Mind,” “Back Home Again,” and Carol Kings “So Far Away.” The rounder was “Home on the Range.” Linda led her self penned “You Can Tell If There is Love In a Home.”

Ukulele Rebellion
The theme was “Post Election.” Mark led “Three Little Birds” to start off. Jeanne led “All Hawai’i Stand Together,” a sovereignty movement anthem. Jeremy led “Blue Skies” and included a Melodica solo. Stephanie led “What The World Needs Now.” Mike and Pam led Donovan’s “There Is A Mountain,” including a flute solo and tambourine accompaniment. “Whale Of A Tale” was covered by Disney Mark and notable for being sung by Kirk Douglas. Kathryn led “Light Of A Clear Blue Morning.” Moana led “Come On Over.”
