Al Wood, the proprietor of the Ukulele Hunt website, did an instrumental version. It sounded familiar like I had heard it decades earlier. I looked up the original and decided to give it a go. It’s a heartbreaking song with an upbeat rhythm. I worked out a simple bass line using Garageband, 8 measures in a loop. That was my 1st Garageband endeavor; it took some playing around with the app to get it done. I played the bass line from a second computer using the Yamaha portable amp you can see behind me. The mix worked well enough for the 1st try. This will be the next song I take to an open mic.
