Doug Reynolds hands over the Ukulele Festival reins to Dani Joy. Doug will remain a consultant. I wonder what new ideas Dani will have.
I captured Throsby’s strum in this version. Earlier, I was unable to sing with the strum and had to simplify it. I miscounted and added an extra ending line. I attended Alissa Hunnicutt’s Acting Through Singing class to understand my emotional connection to the song, thereby improving the link to the audience.
It was fun to do this Prince song again. I had trouble seeing the 2nd-page lyrics and stumbled a bit.
“A Patch of Blue” pickup band with Jack and the Vox joining in. They said it was ok to record. I had never heard this song or The Alternates Routes before.
Overall- quality classes and a good time had by all. Evening shows were excellent.
