St Valentines Day Massacre

The soundtrack of the 2012 movie Not Fade Away includes this song. The Cocktail Slipper’s cover is the one I first heard. I played it at Dani-Joy’s Glampout 3rd open mic to the strongest reaction of my 3 open mic songs. Preparing to play at the South Bay Acoustic Music Zoom, I busted a string on the Risa electric and substituted the low G Blackbird. I used the Risa for the recording above. The ukulele sounds undermixed; the GarageBand bass is too strong; though I have to make sure I can hear the bass to avoid getting out of sync. The reverb I applied is lost to the listener. I provide 4 measures of bass to start the song to help my brain lock on to the timing. To keep the bass sounding good through Zoom, I place the notes within the bass clef staff lines, i.e., C1 and C2 ranges. Also, 2 notes per measure instead of 4 as in an earlier effort.
