Galway Girl Ft. Penny Whistle by Glen Baker

Galway Girl cover

Last year, I heard a guitarist perform this song at the South Bay Acoustic Music meetup. I decided it would be good for a St. Patricks Day themed jam this year, but that never happened. The song is fast, with a couple of 4/4 to 2/4 time signature shifts. It helped to do 2225 Ds ahead of the Bms. Now I have some drums. I outsourced the drum production to my friend Kevin, who chose Socal from GarageBand selections. It fits nicely, making adjustments for the chorus. I especially like the cymbal crashes. The mix buries the bass a bit; I’ll do something about that next effort. Glen rocks the penny whistle, recorded using Garageband at my former Santa Clara home. This video is my 1st made in Sacramento. The acoustics of the recording room seem more echo-ey. Chart.
