Blue Bayou

I joined the musicians at a block party on my street. My ukulele-playing neighbor Larry turned me on to the bossa nova strum, which is well suited for this song. The strum requires two measures:

It took me a while to be able to sing along with it—a quality alternative to the calypso strum. Not plugged in, so you can’t hear me in the video. Larry provides a good voice and ukulele riffing. I’ll publish a song video soon that will feature the strum. The bass and guitar-playing ladies are Larry’s friends from Tracy, CA.
