You And Me Against You And Me

Cover of 2021 Justine Covault song.

I heard this on Rodney Biggenheimer’s Show on Sirius’s Underground Garage. An opportunity to do a garage band rock and roll song using my solid body electric Risa. Barre chords were the stretch challenge, particularly A 6454 to D 7655. It took me years to get that F barre chord form consistent, and it still requires the most mindfulness. The Bb form (used for D) has never been a problem. I don’t doubt the situation is reversed for some, as there is a lot of hand variation. I threw in G at 7775 and E at 9877. The action of the Risa is the easiest of the three ukuleles I own, despite the steel strings. The zero fret helps. I wish for a wider fretboard, though. I can’t maintain barre chords for the song’s length, so I mixed some open-string chords. I attribute the fatigue to my aging arm and hand. Any, maybe my physiology. Bassline and percussion by Kevin Wacknov.
