I covered this song for the Ukulele Rebellion Bronco Billy Halloween Jam. The somewhat exotic original has two guitars in a non-standard tuning using a two-line chord loop. I modified the arrangement more than I usually do for my covers. I had a time constraint and had to make it playable by myself. I wish I had time to capture the intro riff better. Tom, whom I met at the Placer County Ukulele Festival, joined me for the performance, resulting in the most complex audio setup yet. Headphones monitored the bassline. Tom’s vocal and ukulele used a separate microphone and mixer input. Kevin provided a Zoom sound check ahead of the Jam. We got off the bass line, or at least I did. I attribute that to not being used to playing along with each other. We only practiced together just before the Jam. I did the odd lines Bb C D by going up the neck using the Bb form, using a single down strum for each. Any more than that resulted in a clangy sound. The even lines are rhythmically tricky for me, with the “Bb/ F/ G//” followed by the full G measure.
