Thankful For Everything

The Ukulele Rebellion “Celebrating Gratitude and Thankfulness” zoom jam required a theme-compliant song. Searching my vast collection of bad music for bad people revealed this Brit Rodriguez chestnut. The singing challenge turned out to be the phrasing of, “and when my dog comes running to join me, I’m thankful for his paws,” which differs from the preceding. I used open chords for the verses. The chorus has Am 5453, C 5433, F 5553, and G 7775. Single strums of Am x987, C 9787, F 10-9-88, G 0-11-10-10 (exploit the top string open G) for the bridge. I used the three notes for the instrumentals ending in a G chord. I only had three notes, but I still stumbled over them a bit. I used the high G tenor Kanilea. I also performed the song at South Bay Acoustic Music and Monterey Ukulele Club Zoom jams. The Monterey club plans to add this song to their songbook.
