Thanks to Kevin Wacknov for the percussion and bass. I overheard the song on Rodney Bingenheimer’s show, and it is a natural for Ukulele Rebellion’s Third Annual Lu’au—covid lockdown nostalgia. Drifting Sand is local to SF Bay Area. The vamp – 1st four measures: D7 at 7989, G7 at 7778, and C at 5433. 2nd four measures: D7 at 5655, G7 at 10-11-10-10, and C at 5433. I do a lot of 7-chord “bouncing” in the verses for C and F. Chorus: I play a C5 0033 and F 10-988. At the G7, I include a passing chord of G7+ 0312 back to C5. The song is educational; I discovered who Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman were and exotica. I played using the Risa electric, with some reverb dialed in. Chart.
