Working Isn’t Working

I selected this song in anticipation of my upcoming retirement. I saw the Primitives in the late 80s, probably 1988, at the I-Beam nightclub in SF on Haight St. According to Wikipedia, the building the I-Beam was in is long gone. I enjoyed and kept track of the band’s music over the years. “Working isn’t Working” is my second Primitives cover; the 1st was Breakaway, which was already a cover of the Toni Basil song. I played the piece using a Risa electric tenor ukulele and a little reverb. The riff at the E chord at the 4th line of the chorus (“Sit around … “) was recorded using my Kanilea. I managed to duplicate the verse strumming pattern. Thanks to Kevin Wacknov for the sound check, bass and percussion.
