I covered this song some years ago. I listened to the YouTube upload, and to my dismay, I could not hear the vocals. I suspect I did not give it an objective listen at the time. I had cruder gear back then. I might have recorded using an externally mic’d computer or a Tascam—I have much better equipment now. So this is the replacement that does the song better justice. I wanted a decent cover of this fun song I discovered through Al Wood’s UkeHunt. I used the high-G Kanilea to tackle this four-chord song. GarageBand provided the drums. No bass track, I think this is enough. The ukulele is mic’d, with a mixer channel providing some reverb via the ukulele’s pickup. I used Logic Pro to lower the levels a little and the plug-in Sonnox Soften to remove some harshness from the vocals. I also improved the chart.
