In the key of F this time, to make it easier for the jam participants to strum along, I brought this arrangement to two ukulele jams. I used the GarageBand drummer library. The Perry Stauffer bass guidelines guided my bass composition, and I used the GarageBand “60’s combo” processed bass instead of the direct line input to improve upon the “springy” sound I hear in the 1st cover. The Risa electric ukulele provided the instrumental, with compression (pedal), reverb (mixer), tremolo (GarageBand), and some mid-range equalization (pedal), making for a fatter sound. I put the Klos 8-string to use, with a more elaborate strum, both mic’d and a mixer channel with reverb (mixer), compression, and some compression (pedal). The mic’d channel gets most of the ukulele sound, so I have to be aware of the ukulele swamping my vocals. A soundhole cover would help; the one I have does not fit the Klos. The original cover version is here.
