A Million Parachutes Revisited

“A Million Parachutes” cover.

Revisited, because the bassline in the verse was somewhat wrong.   I say “somewhat” because I accidentally copied the GarageBand bass chorus line into the verse measures and somehow didn’t hear it during playback. The notes fit, but I prefer my original intent of the chord root notes.  I noticed the problem while practicing the song for the Saturday Morning Uke Fest 2026 Ukulele Jam.  I changed the strum to get more string articulation, that is, more ringing tone from the 8-string.  The jam participants provided positive feedback regarding that effort.   Here is my original “studio” cover. And here is the cover that inspired me.  I note that Maggie Love’s guitar is capoed at the open ukulele strings (5th fret). She has a beautiful voice.   I used the soundhole cover to limit the mic’s ukulele pickup, so that the ukulele’s own pickup sound, processed through the equalizer, compression, and reverb channel, will be emphasized in the mixer.
