Heritage Park Band

I joined a local band based nearby at a nearby senior housing development. My friend Tom, whom I met at the 2022 Placer Ukulele Festival, told me about it, and I was able to participate last week. The band has several ukulele players, two guitarists, two banjos, a piano, an accordion, and a bass. I joined at the end of the holiday / Christmas song rehearsals. We played 45 minutes of holiday favorites at a church and the Sacramento State Capitol rotunda. The band has a musical director to keep us tight. Many song tempos were quick; I struggled to keep up with limited practice time. I brought my Kanilea tenor. Most of the year, they use the Daily Ukulele books as song sources.

I look forward to playing with this band next year.
