Rag Mama Rag

Thanks to Kevin Wacknov for the Zoom soundcheck. Ukulele Rebellion’s January Jam theme celebrates musicians who passed in 2023. I chose Robbie Robertson after hearing Rag Mama Rag on Sirius Underground Garage. The original song is in F minor; transposing to A minor made playing more accessible, especially at jams. I recorded the bass track using my Taylor Mini Bass, using 3rds when changing to a new chord and 5ths when using the same chord. The drums are GarageBand (Roots Songwriter, Manchester drum kit, and Backroads beat presets.) I varied the hi-hat, tom, and fill usage at different song parts. I went up the neck for chord voicings at various points.
