Clay Pigeons

“Clay Pigeons” cover.

This is the studio version, featuring a Logic Pro-generated bassline and tambourine percussion.  I’ve come to think of the beat 3 tambourine as “pensive”, and the full measure tambourine as “hopeful.”  This was my song at the 2 Rivers Cider Company jam this afternoon, where I changed the instrumental measures to reflect the choruses, making the chord progressions easier to communicate to the assembled for jamming.  And that they did.  I soloed on “Sitting In Limbo” myself when the offer was made; the major pentatonic scale worked well.  The other musicians quieted at that time, especially considering it’s easy to drown out a ukulele.  More about the Clay Pigeons song here.  Post-processing: I applied Sonnox Soften to the vocals.  And in case you are wondering what happened to the Taylor E-Mini Bass, nothing.  I pulled a muscle at the gym a few weeks ago, and bending my left arm toward the fretboard aggravated it.  It will return next month.
